We have 6 different shutters to choose from ensuring our product range provides something to suit all budgets, from our entry level Craftwood to our premium Cedarwood.

Regardless of which product you choose, you can be confident that all shutters within our entire range are manufactured with the same core processes and with the same level of care and attention to detail.

  • All shutters are manufactured with mortise and tenon joints to ensure longevity and durability.
  • All wood is kiln-dried and treated with Prescription Wood Conditioning; a technique which reduces post-installation shrinking and swelling.
  • All shutters go through the same rigorous quality control procedures at the key stages of manufacture ensuring the required standards are consistently met.
  • Our shutters have either 6 coats of paint or 7 coats of stain to give a tough, lustrous finish and to prevent fading the final layer is UV protected.

Cedarwood

This is our premier product. Made from Western Red Cedar and generally acknowledged to be the best timber for internal window shutters. 

It’s light in weight, durable and moisture resistant. It’s also dimensionally stable which means it resists the natural tendency to crack and check, as you might find with other wood species. By nature, it is incredibly thermal coefficient (meaning it will keep out the heat in summer and insulate during the winter). The entire shutter; including the louvres, are made from quarter-sawn wood to ensure generations of durability and dimensional stability.

Its light-weight nature makes it our first choice for larger than average window spans.

  • 17 paint, 2 oiled and 2 lacquered finishes.  We can also custom colour in a finish from the Farrow & Ball and Dulux trade palettes.
  • Available in 32mm, 47mm, 64mm, 89mm and 114mm louvre sizes.

Premium Basswood

Basswood is a robust, premium, high quality hardwood. This Premium American Basswood is pale in colour almost white making it ideal for shutters that require wood stains but also takes paint with a lustre finish. 

The timber is light-weight, dimensionally stable and has a fine, straight grain.

  • 17 paint and 32 stain finishes.  We can also custom colour in a finish from the Farrow & Ball and Dulux trade palettes.
  • Available in 32mm, 47mm, 64mm, 89mm and 114mm louvre sizes.
  • 3 solid panel options.
  • Special shapes.

Larchwood

Our Larchwood product is made from the Siberian Larch species; a highly sustainable source of timber. It is classified as a ‘Least Concern’ species and offers the foundation for a dependable source of supply. 

Although heavier than both the Basswood and Cedarwood ranges, it is a harder wood; meaning it is much more resilient to both denting and general wear.

Like the Basswood shutter, our Larchwood product is also made with an engineered core giving extra strength and integrity.

  • 11 paint and 15 stain finishes.  We can also custom colour in a finish from the Farrow & Ball and Dulux trade palettes.
  • Available in 47mm, 64mm and 89mm louvre sizes.
  • 1 solid panel option.
  • Special shapes.

Permawood

Our Permawood product provides a shutter that is 100% waterproof. These shutters are manufactured using a hardwood core combined with an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic coating. This co-polymer coating is extremely tough and resilient and is the same used in the manufacture of American football helmets. 

We recommend these shutters for bathrooms and other areas where you may expect higher than normal humidity. It is important to note that these are still internal shutters and are not designed, manufactured or guaranteed for external installations.

Engineered Basswood

This product is Engineered Basswood panels and framework and is our most popular range of shutters. The off-cuts from our Premium Basswood range are utilized by manufacturing these panels using a finger jointed method.  This allows us to produce an Engineered hardwood panel that has all the properties of the more expensive Premium Basswood range, but with significant cost savings.

Craftwood

Our Craftwood product is manufactured from MDF with an engineered core ensuring exceptional rigidity with no twisting or warping. It’s coated in a tough, water resistant polyurethane coating which is resistant to scuffing, staining, cracking, chipping and fading. Our Craftwood shutters are manufactured utilising the same core processes and the same care and attention that we use in producing our hardwood shutter ranges.
