Café Style Shutters

This design is ideal for ground level windows and for properties that are close to the street.  The panels can be specified to any height, but its ‘usual practice’ to tie in with the window’s middle bar (if there is one).  This layout gives privacy and light control through the bottom of the window and allows unrestricted light through the top. Tier-on-Tier Shutters

Tier-on-Tier gives you maximum control over both light and privacy within your room.  These shutters cover the entire window with the top and bottom panels opening independently of each other.  This is the most flexible layout – folding the top panels back gives you the benefits of a Café Style layout and keeping them closed gives you the benefit of a Full Height layout.  Tier-on-Tier is best suited to tall sash windows found in period properties. Full Height Shutters

Covering the full height of the window, this is our most popular installation style with superb flexibility.  Commonly specified with a mid-rail, the shutters are split into sections – each section with its own separate control rod, thus providing adjustable levels of privacy and light control. Patio Door Shutters

A tracked shutter system is the perfect solution for patio doors or large, wide windows.  Rather than fitting the shutters in the usual manner with frames and hinges, the shutters slide in a track.  Tracked shutters are better to suited to carrying the increased weight associated with the larger panels that go at these types of opening.  Tracked shutters are also so suitable for room dividers and partitions.Patio Door Shutters (More info)

Special Shapes

Solid Shutters

Our solid panel shutters are designed to mimic the original panelled shutter most commonly found in properties from the Victorian era. The original shutters were made from Pine, but due its weight, softness and inconsistent quality, Pine has now been replaced with Basswood and this is the modern-day, preferred timber of choice.Solid Shutters (More Info)

Louvre Sizes

There is no right or wrong choice when selecting a louvre size as it’s down to personal preference.  Generally, a small louvre will give enhanced privacy and the larger louvres let in more light.  Our most popular louvre size is the 64mm.  As an alternative to the standard control rod, which is fixed to the front of the shutter in the centre, we offer a hidden tilt rod mechanism.  Discreetly fixed to the rear of the shutter, this design provides a more contemporary, minimalist look.
